COURSE DESCRIPTION: As ever greater numbers of Canadians are approaching or entering retirement, the interest in retirement income planning has been steadily increasing. Annuities form the basis of many retirement income products, but they are often misunderstood. It doesn't help that financial services companies offer a plethora of different annuity choices, often with unique names and hard-to-compare features. Interest in annuities has increased over the past year as interest rates (and thus annuity payment rates) have increased from previous years.

This Course will give you a detailed understanding of the various types of annuities, how annuity income is taxed, and how various factors affect annuity payments, including interest rates, age, gender, and more. You will also learn about common annuity strategies, including the new advanced life deferred annuity (ALDA), and gain practice in identifying a suitable annuity for a given client situation.

PUBLISHED: October 2023

NOTE: You have six months from time of purchase to complete this course.
